Christian Aid Week
Christian Aid Week starts Sunday 10th May. Naturally there will be no street collection in our parish this year, but the information below details how donations can still be made, (if so desired).
Love never fails. Coronavirus impacts all of us. But love unites us all.
Dear St. Leonard’s Church Member
I know that most people will be looking first to their family, then friends and then your local community to offer support at this difficult time. However, there are people in need around the world and Africa, one of the continents regularly supported by you through charities such as Christian Aid, will be the next continent to suffer from Corona Virus, so you may want to consider making a donation.
Christian Aid staff have acknowledged that this year the usual door to door and church collections can’t go ahead. Please read this message:
As this virus spreads across the world, love rises up in response. You’ve already shown incredible kindness to your neighbours. Now is the time to reach out to your neighbours both near and far.
Your love protects. From storms, from drought, and now from coronavirus. Your love protects our global neighbours battling the spread of this illness. Your love protects. With soap, clean water and medical supplies.
By supporting us this Christian Aid Week, you can reach out and protect more of your neighbours today.
If you are able to donate, please look at the Christian Aid website:
If some normality returns by the autumn, then we will consider a fundraiser as a joint exercise through the Ayr and District Christian Aid committee.
